Hi Everyone
I am seriously considering a Freedom Wig. I will have to shave my head (which is a big step for me). My local agent recently sent me a DVD and on that I saw Martine doing her Freedom wig in an updo. I noticed the back hairline edge is very high -- Can anyonee tell me why that is and if one could have it lower. It just seems a bit unnatural to be so high.
I also want to know what density is the most natural looking?
And also just how many colours one can blend and what you all would recommend to achieve a natural light brown/caramel blonde?
I also wonder how guys take it if you tell them you wear a wig and cannot sleep with it at night? I recently lost my husband and although I'm not nearly ready to date again, I suppose that day will come at some point.
Hope to hear from you all soon.

Hi Janine,
I am the Independent Agent for Eastern Canada and happened across your discussion so thought I could help.
The Freedom Wig is totally amazing! It has given me the ability to return to my active lifestyle with confidence.
In terms of your questions,
The hairline is drawn to look very natural. In the back of the hairpiece the hairline is drawn just below the occipital bone and swept above the neckline so that the wig, when you look up to the sky, is not pushed up and suction is then lost. The baby hairs along the back of the neckline completely mask the hairline and give you coverage so that you can wear your hair up and no one knows...totally fantastic!
The density is a choice that you and your IA determine best suits you. Most women will opt for a light or extra light density depending on the amount of hair you had pre-alopecia. My hairpiece is a light density. Of course the curl pattern plays into this so that if you want a curlier hairpiece you may prefer to go with an extra-light density to compensate for the body the curl gives. Clients that opt for straight, movement even light wave tend to order light density. Once again this is a conversation to have with your IA at your consultation. I always think too much hair tends to make hairpieces look "wiggy". Your IA will have the all the information to help you with your choices.
As for the color, you can select between two colors to combine to get the color you wish to achieve. There is a colour ring of hair available at your appointment and once again your IA will help guide you in your choices. The hair samples feel silky soft...as will your hairpiece.
As for your final question about talking to guys...I am not one to answer that. My husband has been with me throughout this journey so I don't know what dating is like in a hairpiece. All I can tell you is that the Freedom Wig has given two of my clients in a similar situation as yours the courage to date again.
Another great person to friend and question is RoseMarie. Her daughter wears a Freedom Wig and she has several pictures on her page for browsing.
Feel free to check out my website (www.imageevolutionhair.ca) as well for more information and definitely check out the testimonials. I love my job and really can't thank Freedom Hair enough for allowing me to help others.
I hope this helps.
Warm Wishes,
Jenn Krahn
Hi Jenn,
Thanks for your reply. I now understand better about the hairline. I looked at your website and saw the pony tail pictures and you're right, it looks natural. Your picture on the front page with the light density also gives me a very good idea of the density and I will also opt for light. Thank you very much.
I have had wigs made from tne New Zealand Freedom company for YEARS. If I get brave and post some photos... you will see: they are the most beautiful hair piece ever. With the new laser that makes the head measurements, they fit GREAT. They changed my life. Color choices are great. I mixed two colors and it came out great. Jennifer's response was so true.. thorough. Too much hair looks wiggy. My thoughts on dating/sleeping in them: be up front. tell them about your alopecia. if that is a problem with the guy, move on. it has never been a problem with any man in my life. woman are the worst.. critical.. judgmental. Men don't seem to care so much, in my experience. DON'T sleep in your Freedom wig. If you feel you must sleep with a wig on, buy another cheap human hair piece, or synthetic, and sleep in that. I do that when I travel or amy staying somewhere I'm not sure I will have total privacy.
