Hi I am new to using the Freedom Wig and I am wondering what kind of brush you are using? I have a brush that I used for the synthetic wig (a dog brush believe it or not!) and it was really good. Can I use this.

There r 2 that we use and like a lot. One was recommended by myem who is a another member. It's called "FAST FLO" by cricket. It's a static free vent brush. Black an red. Got iton line about $7 comes in a mini size also.
The other was just given to us by this amazing stylist in ft. Lauderdale that takes care of many fw wearers and has or > 20 yrs. it's called "The 'Wet' Brush". The wet is in quotation marks on the handle. My daughter likes that also.

thankyou for your replies. Cindy Babs can I use the Wet Brush for everyday use or would you recommend it only for wet hair? Or would you recommend the Fast Flo one by Cricket if you had to choose between the two? I have a wide toothed comb for when its wet but I need something for it knotting (which is happening a lot at the base of the wig). thanks

Hi grow girl. I think you're better off with the vent brush if have to choose one. U know the spiel...start at end of hair and work up while holding the hair in ur other hand above where ur brushing. It seems we always loose at least 1-2 hairs during this process. Yikes. Hope that's alright...good luck! :)

Not a good idea to use a dog brush, it may cause damage to the scalp skin. I recommend using a vented brush for your daily brushing, and a wide toothed wet comb for when your hair is wet and needs to be combed out after shampooing. Ask your hair stylist if she can supply you with these.

Happy styling,

Donna

I never used a bush but always a wide tooth comb, those really big ones.. or an afro comb with long well separated teeth (it was a softer plastic, and the best one was from the Body Shop but I think they stopped stocking them).. that did the job for years. It kept it tidy without damaging the hair so my wigs lasted a very long time.
