I'm practicing putting my Freedom wig on, and trying to work out how to get it in the exact right place so that there is 'suction'.

I spray water in it, put it on, and leave it for half an hour to let the water evaporate. But how on earth do I then know if it's on properly? Yes it's not falling off, but that doesn't mean I have it on 'properly'. I really need to make sure I'm getting it on exactly right so I can make an appointment to go get it styled. There's no point in getting it styled then realising I had it on wrong so they've cut it on an angle.

Apparently when you take the wig off, that's when you can tell if there's 'suction'. Maybe a popping sound or something. Well there is no popping sound as such when I take it off, so does this mean I have it on wrong? What do you look for to tell if you have 'suction'?

Hope this makes sense, and thank you in advance!

Mary -

I was taught by my sales rep (Karen) to run my fingers around the edge of my Freedom to make sure the spacing around my ears is even especially important since I wear glasses>>, to tilt my head back to make sure the bottom back edge isn't pushing into my neck wrong, to lift the front hair and make sure about 4 fingers (hand held sideways) is between the edge of the front and my eyebrows.

A quick shake of my head back and forth to make sure it doesn't shift, and I'm confident it's not going anywhere.  PLUS, I live in Chicago and walk along the windy-est intersection of the city every day - so that's saying something.

Let me know if anything doesn't make sense.

Thanks a lot for the advice Lori. Great idea to run fingers around the edge as I'm not very confident judging the position by sight alone, so feeling my way around the edges helps (I've just tried it now).

Just one more question, do you get a particular feeling when you take the wig off? I don't seem to be getting a 'popping' sound or feeling to indicate I've had proper suction. I'm starting to think maybe that doesn't matter, as long as the wig seems like it's on securely.

Thanks!

Hi Mary -

There's not a big popping sound with mine. Depending on how long I've worn it (i.e. if there's been sweat or oil gathering in the silicone), I may not hear or feel anything at all taking it off.  Otherwise, it's more like taking the lid off a Tupperware bowl - if that makes sense.  :-)
