have been on LDN 4.5 mg capsule for about 2 months and so far no results but I know it takes time. I do feel a lot better. I will stay on LDN long term because of the benefits. Of course hair growth would be a huge bonus.

If you could handle 4mg, I would start with that. My dr. prescribed me .25mg and start slowly (increase by .25mg weekly), but since I felt good on it, I increased within 10 days to 4.5mg. I was a bit nauseated on 3.5mg and tired, but other than that no issues and felt perfect after a couple of days. My dr said that for alopecia I should be on the highest dose and that it was ok that I was increasing so fast. My advise: if you can handle it, stay on 4mg and go to 4.5mg. If side effects don't fade after a couple of days, you can always decide to titrate back. To see results with alopecia, highest dose is key (said my dr. from his experience). I have been on 4.5mg almost 6 weeks and I start to notice some positive developments (blond hairs on my arms and fingers and some dots on my head). Keep you posted!

While I am waiting on my LDN prescription to come in the mail, I had a couple questions I thought maybe someone could help me with. I noticed a lot of people said that they started at a really small dose and moved up to the highest dose for LDN which is 4-4.5. My doctor just started me at 4mg I believe. Should I say something to my doctor about starting at a lower dose or would it be okay to start a 4mg because I am an adult?

Also, I have read that some doctors advise that people also take vitamin D while on LDN. I am already taking fish oil, co derm, a probiotic, a vitamin that I am supposed to take while on this yeast elimination diet, a hormone cream to balance out my hormones because I was low on progesterone. All while avoiding my food sensitivities.

LDN at 16 weeks.  Thicker and longer.

CourtneyBrieAnna, I started with liquid, but being on full dose 4.5mg now, I am taking the pill form. The liquid lasts only one month in the fridge.

That looks amazing, Pterese! Almost 6 weeks on ldn and my nails are strong, no longer brittle. I also noticed some blonde hairs on my arms and my husband could see the hairfollicles on my scalp. Before yesterday he was sceptical about ldn. It's too early yet to confirm growth, but so far looking good!

Yep the nurse told me they have been using the same compounding pharmacy for 25 years and she said they are great. The doctor originally was going to prescribe it to me in a pill form but I remembered a couple people from this group said it had to be a liquid form. So I asked him to have it be in a liquid form and he said that was fine if that is what I preferred. The pharmacy called me to verify everything and they even asked me if I wanted it flavored. So I guess my LDN is going to be tangerine flavored (that was the only flavor option that was natural and dye free).

Hello. Look for an intergrative dr. They typically do it and understand it.
