I have had alopecia since I was a child. It wa always treatabke or hidable until my first child was born. I lost 25% after that birth it came back and after my second child I have now lost about 30%. I am new to this site and looking for support.
I avoid having my picture taken. Therefore I don't even have an updated photo of myself to post.
Hi and welcome! You will find a lot of support here.
I lived in New Hampshire for awhile -- I worked in Peterborough and lived in Jaffrey. Beautiful country up there, but very cold!
I have had aa for about 30 years. I just wanted to say hello and see how you are today.

Hi, I wanted to welcome you to Alopecia World. I can honestly say that we are a great community here and I hope you enjoy the time you spend with us. Cheryl, co-founder
Hi Bigmama,
You're from Maine or NH?? I live in Langdon NH. Where are you?
I lost all my hair about 20 years ago. Was a mess at first, but slowly came to grips with it and now I actually like it! Since I also got involved in Freedom Wigs, I have a 'stable' of them to wear and I love the fun and freedom I have from being able to change my look, not go grey and have hair about 40 years younger than I am!! In some ways, 30% is harder than 0% as you are left in a sort of limbo. Feel free to call or write whenever you want to talk. Maybe we can have lunch one day??
Hi Amy!! I had no idea you were Bigmama! I was picturing someone from an Eddie Murphy film!!! How did you come up with that name?? Just let me know when you want to come back and I'll be happy to meet you. Bring your stylist too!! August is a very busy month for me with lots of travel, but the rest of July is still good.

Try not to let it get to you. I did the exact same thing when I told my supervisor at Pan Am. I usually put brown cover cream on my spots so they wouldn't show when I pulled my thinning hair into a ponytail with the regulation blue bow. To show her what was happening, I didn't put the cover cream on. When I took off my hat, she gasped and I started sobbing. After that, she did whatever she could to help me!! It was a nightmare, but getting it over with helped. Let me know how it goes.
