I am 39, married with two kids. I live in Minnesota. I am a manager in the software industry. I enjoy running and staying active. I am also a basketball junkie (I'm 6'5").
I found my first spot in 1994 and eventually went AU in 2003.
Now why would I do that? I'm a VIKING til I die!!!
I have PSLs in Nashville so I will be at the game!!! (Yes, I'm rubbing it in -- have to witness the Titans being 0-3 lifetime against the Vikes!)
I hate that they gave up their 1st round pick for Allen, even though he is sorely needed since Udeze won't be playing this year because of his leukemia. They needed to use that pick and get a better QB than Tarvaris Jackson. Gus Frerotte, awesome backup that he is, is getting old and we need some fresh blood and great legs in that position.
I wouldn't count them out in the draft just yet -- remember that this is the same team that picked up Cris Carter in the Supplemental Draft off waivers. Brad Childress, unfortunately, just has not made the transition from OC to head coach -- I don't understand why they keep picking these guys up and they don't have what it takes to be a head coach!!! Here's to hoping that they trade up for a 1st round pick because they really need it -- and here's to hoping like HELL that AP stays healthy, because if they run him ragged because Tarvaris Jackson's QB skills are garbage, then what have they really gained???
BTW, did I mention that football is my favorite sport and that starting tomorrow my tv at home will be on NFL Network 24/7? I'm the commissioner of my own fantasy football league (6th year) and I scare the guys in my department because I'm the only female there that will go toe to toe with them about any sport?? LOL
Hi Steve, I wanted to welcome you to Alopecia World. I can honestly say that we are a great community here and I hope you enjoy the time you spend with us.
That is my only reaction to the Vikings' draft this year. They did not address needs like players to replace Kenichi Udeze, no protection for Tarvaris Jackson, nobody to replace Troy Williamson, they still haven't found anyone to replace Nate Burleson when he went to Seattle, and there is no contingency plan for when AP gets injured again. His durability was an issue at Oklahoma and as awesome a beast as he is it will become a question in Minnesota too. WTF do we need another safety for? All the safeties in the world don't equal to the loss that they suffered when Corey Chavous went to St. Louis (who, awesome player that he was in Minnesota, is not translating into success in the Lou. I went to college with him, and he was awesome at Vandy!)
Simply put, this year's draft was a draft of nice-to-haves, not need-to-haves, with the exception of John David Booty. Brooks Bollinger couldn't get the job done with the Jets and T-Jax is still not getting it done (reeking of another Rex Grossman) -- this is not a long-term solution to the Vikes' needs. I love my boys, but this year I'm not holding my breath.
Hi Steve, sometimes I'm a "bit" slow in keeping up with the internet stuff. Would you like to be added to the support group email list? We're having a meeting this Sunday (May 4th) if you're interested. Haven't figured out the summer event yet. But will keep you posted. Let me know. Heidi ...
Got your email address and added it to the group list. Hopefully something will work out sometime. We usually have a meeting at the U in September. Might be a good one for you.
Would love it if you were apart of my Book Project. Please Read about it under my forumn on my page. If you are interested, email me at bbibby_org@yahoo.com
