I am 23 year old mother of two. My daughter Sierra Sue 5 was diagnosted with alopecia areata a year ago. She has 50-75% hairloss currently. My youngest Jersie Lee-Ann jsut turned 3. It makes it really nice Jersie not being the dazzle dazzle kind of girl that likes her hair curled n pinned up so sierra doesnt have to feel left out. Because Sierra is so into fashion.
Hi Tasha! Welcome to Alopecia World! I read your blog about your daughter and her class wearing bandanas, and that is such a wonderful idea! You sound like a really involved, supportive mother to your daughters- that is terrific :) Just out of curiosity, does anyone else in your family have alopecia, like an aunt or brother? Because no one in my family has it, and I can't seem to figure out where this came from. I suppose my "innovative" genes got the best of me and decided to start a new trend haha. And I'm also wondering if my children will have it, too......sorry, I am rambling! Anyways, please feel free to chat anytime or ask me any questions.
Cheers,
Natalie
Hi Tasha,
Its a great site and I joined about the middle of last year (I think AW started in March last year).
I wish these groups were available when I first got Alopecia. Unfortunately computers were not available then either :)

Hi Tasha, Welcome to AW! Your daughter is beautiful and it sounds like she has a great support system to help her through this. How did you daughter feel to see all of her friends where bandannas? And, how are you doing?
