Hi! Thanks for your comment, I live in Bristol.
I lost my hair when I was 9 and not in patches but all of in went all at once, took about 3 days and no one ever really diagnosed it, just told us it was alopecia but didn't explain anything else. I agree that having none is better than having patches. I think the worst thing is when others don't ask why I have no hair, it makes things harder if they don't understand.
How did you find school without hair? Xx
HI Margaret, thanks for the add request. Yay! I finally found someone who lives in Exeter. I almost lost all hope there! How are you doing? Hope all is well with you!
Hi Margaret, well you have had alopecia for a lot longer than I have. I've had it almost 7 years now. I have worn a wig for the past 4 or so years, which has been great, but I'm getting to the point where I think they are more hassle than they are worth and am strongly considering going bald. What do you do? Do you go 'au naturel'? Nice to hear from you. xx
Hi Margaret
Thanks for organising the meet-up. Let me know when you've decided the details. If the South coast is too far for people perhaps we could meet somewhere like Bristol?
Hi Margaret, apologies its taken so long to reply to your question. I havent been on here for ages as had a lot going on. I dont actually wear Freedom wigs so cannot comment on the heat/sweating element of them sorry, Im a Trendco Diamond wig wearer personally and I love them. Hope your well, Becky.
Margaret, are you meaning the National Alopecia Event in Chepstow? You need to look on the alopeciaareatasupport community website, one of their members is organising this page is info@alopeciaareatasupport.co.uk
There'll be a few going from B'ham. You need to let them know how many going..

I would love to come to your meet, but I have to work on sat 23rd may, also in the middle of my finals and I'm in Nottingham....a bit far :-( hopefully I'll be able to make the next one!!xxxx
Hi Margaret, welcome to alopeciaworld! Come join us at Sisterhood of Women Who Have Shaved Their Heads and National Bald Out Day, two groups where you'll find great support. This site is full of support!
Hey Margaret! That sounds great! Sorry for the late reply I am hardly on alopeciaworld. I am free on Saturday. If no one else is able to make it we can still meet up can't we? I am very excited in meeting another alopecian. God knows how long I have looked forward to this day :) My number is 07593030950. Let me know :) xx
Oh Margaret I had such a lovely time with you! You cannot believe how happy I am right now and my confidence has boosted up a million times more! After you left my bus wasn't due to arrive for another 40 mins so I walked around and I actually chatted with a few people, also a guy came up to me and said I was gorgeous!!!!! I am so glad we decided to meet up! You have no idea how big of an impact it made! Thanks so much for meeting up with me! You made a difference in my life :)
margaret, you two look stunning in the picture! Hope we meet up one day - nearest I'll be to you over the summer is Minehead or Barnstaple - walking during the week of June 8th - find me on Exmoor!
Margaret, it would be fantastic if we could meet -it looks a long drive to me but a very scenic one I'm sure. I don't know exactly where we'll be - depends on tired legs - but around Barnstaple, on the coast path. My mobile (if there is reception) is 07776095885, let me have your number and I'll ring on the wednesday if you like, will have a clearer idea of where we'll be by then - does that sound ok? love jen xx
I am glad to hear you had a great time! Nothing truly exciting has happened but I feel after the day we met my life has changed for the better. All my doubts and fears have gone out the window. I am still on a high ever since our meeting. My boyfriend is fully supportive of my decision and he is very happy that I got to meet you cos it changed our relationship as well I think. Lets just say our love for each other has gone much deeper after that. Will tell you all about when on our next meet! hehe When is our next rendevous? I am so looking forward to our next one. Can't wait to walk around town with you again and this time I hope we can get a few more alopecians with us! Sal xx
Hi Margaret, sorry to not respond before, things have been rather hectic! Ive just done GMTV today http://www.gm.tv/videos/gmtv-highlights/35652-premature-hair-loss.html, so am answering lots of calls and emails!! I would love to come on Saturday, although I sing with a band and have a gig on Saturday evening, so I'm not sure if I can make it. I am in Plymouth, so maybe if I can't get there this time, I can in the future. Have you made contact with Melanie from Alopecia Awareness, she lives in Exeter and has run meetings in the past? I know she is planning to restart things... Let me know and sorry again for being awol! Michelle x
