I am a very nice person. I have had alopecia going on for at least a year. I like to draw, and read. My favorite food is Mac & Chz. I'm a teenager. I love social studies, playing tennis and the twilight books. I love horses and watching tv. I am single as of right now just waiting for that special someone;)
My husband is extremely supportive...he was not freaked out at all. He puts the gel I use on my 2nd spot (the first has grown in) and he tells me what's going on back there...like if there is any new growth or whatever! We haven't really entertained the idea of me losing all of my hair, because my doctors seem to think I have a mild case, but if that were to happen, he would definitely stick by me! I am very lucky to have someone like that!
Hey, I have to go out and meet some friends -- talk later?
You can email me at LABARTIST@aol.com.
What's your regular email address? I think you sent it to me before, but I don't know where it is now...
Hugs!
Hi Aspen. I enjoyed reading your story. Your are a very pretty young lady. I wish the best for you and everyone one else with this condition. It sounds like you have been able to handle your peers relatively well. Samantha's hair has grown back as well. She is a strong gal too. She loves to draw and has sketches of books. She loves to draw animals in particular. If you'd like to write her she has her own page, just look for Samantha. She is holding a black cat in her photo. She'd love to have some wall posts..Thanks for writing me..Good luck with school. Did you start yet?
hey Aspen, how are you. you should look into using essential oils like rosemary, cedarwood and lavender. old home remedy from my grandparents is to rub garlic on the spots, give that a try but it gets smelly. lol
Hey! I sent you an email -- did you get it?
The little boy is my nephew. Isn't he adorable? He's afraid of my dog and cats, though.
email me at LABARTIST@aol.com.
It's easier that way, don't you think?
xo!
Hey Aspen!
Why don't you email me at the address below and then I can reply. That way I'll have your correct email address.
I'm busy getting ready for a show on September 3 and doing all new work. I'm redoing my web site, too -- it's very exciting!
You said you're an artist, too. What do you like to draw?
Well this is the second time I've lost my hair. I usually just wear bandanas or hats but on occasion I'll wear wigs.
The first time I lost my hair I lost everything except for a small patch in the back of my head. When my hair grew back it didn't come back everywhere (but in the right places so I could go out.)
This second time my hair is falling out slower and in different places.
Aspen, little birthday Scorpio! I am a Scorp too. My birthday is November 19! Why don'tyou come over here and we'll have a celebration together!
Hey, do you know the city of Boone? I just wondered because a friend of mine is the Mayor there. We were penpals when we were in grade scheool.
Big Hugs! LeslieAnn
Hey Aspen! Yes sorry it is because in order to add comments to my profile i must approve them first! I have been pretty good love, a little stressed but good all around !
How about you how is your hair!?
Hey cutie!
How was your birthday?
What happened? Any cool presents?
Thanks for the happy birthday wish early. A friend is giving me a party next Tuesday, and a couple of other friends are coming in from out of town on Wed and Thur!
Fun!
Love, LeslieAnn
Hi Aspen! Yes, those are wigs I am wearing.
Were you in, "You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown?" Our high school was debating doing that musical as our second Spring Musical ever! But, I believe it lost to South Pacific. I'm okay with either. :)
I'm really hoping to get a bigger role... But if not, I have one more musical. Like I said, we only do one musical every two years, because our school cannot afford royalties.
Write back! I'd love to get to know you. :)
-Maddy
Aspen,
Thanks for your comment. Hearing that I had alopecia was hard. I had been researching online what it could have been and my guess was between that and ringworm...I was hoping for ringworm because that can be treated. I went to the dr. then the dermatologist the next day. She is young and a beautiful blone. I had seen her before. I was shocked at how matter of fact she told me what it was. She told me that I have alopecia and then called in a nurse to get some steriods injected into my scalp. I was trying so hard not to cry, confused as she started to inject my head with the stuff (it burns). I managed to hold the tears until I got out of her office. So that is how I was told about it.... that was just a couple of days ago but I am doing much better. You heard in July? I would love to hear how you are dealing with this. I hope your dermatologist had a little more compassion when telling you.
Allie
I read your story. I hope that school is going better for you now. I am sorry you were picked on. Kids can be stupid. You are such a beautiful girl, you have a great bone structure and can totally pull of short (or no hair). If you need to talk message me.
Hi Aspen,
Nope my photo in my profile is a wig! I added some photos to my one album of what my real hair used to look like. I often forget about this website until I get an e-mail telling me someone left a comment for me. That just happened today and so I spent some time cleaning up and adding to my profile. If you have any questions about wigs or makeup or anything really- just ask. My mom and I both have alopecia and so I've had a lot of years to figure out what works and what doesn't. My one trademark piece of advice is that you don't have to spend a fortune to feel beautiful. Good luck!
peace,
natalie
ok, me again.
I just read your story and checked out your photos. You are adorable! I am so happy that your hair grew back! I can't imagine what it must feel like to experience all this while in high school. It sucked for me being newly married and 25. I bet you have grown so strong from all this though. I know my confidence in myself took a dive at first, but now I feel so strong and confident- probably more so than before I lost my hair. It really forces you to get beyond your physical appearance and to figure out who you really are on the inside. Not allowing yourself to be defined by your looks but by your mind and attitude. Hold your head up high! Life's challenges are really a gift in the long run. They refine your personality to bring out its best features. I'll keep you in my prayers. Be confident, you are beautiful and blessed!
peace,
natalie
Hey, the uk is ok can be very cold!!!
The picture of me.. Im wearing a wig!!! I know it looks real.
my hair started to fall out in april, within 48 hours most of my hair had fallen out on my head, about 2 weeks later I lost my eyebrows, arm hair and then my eyelashes =[
I was more upset about my eyelashes!! I had some injections in july and my hair started growing back in august and was growing very fast, everything came back, I did loose my curly hair though =[. My hair fell out again in october, Iv lost my eyebrows, arm hair, leg hair and hair on my head! I dont even know what type of alopecia I have any more its changed so much!
Im real good at the moment.
where have you lost your hair and how quickly??
kayleigh
Hey lovely.
I am doing well. Yes, my boyfriend and i broke up i am still really upset about it all the time. But i know things will get better. I would love to help whatsup?
sounds very similar to how mine started!
Thankyou I always think people just see it as a wig.. self conscious I guess!
I was a bridesmaid that day and the hair dresser styled that wig... my brought it as a surprise for the wedding =]
Im now currently wearing lace wigs.. you wear them up to 6 weeks at a time and the closest thing to real hair, doesnt even feel like a wig. Its so natural... love it!!!!
How are you?
sorry it takes me ages to reply... I dont go on much, I have face book though if you have it too we could talk through there
kayleigh
Heya,
I did read your story... its sucks that hair doesnt decide if it wants to stay or not. I know how you felt as i lost all my hair then it all grew back but only for about 3 months =[.... Mine is due to my iron and vitamin b12.
my email is kayleighgeorge88@hotmail.co.uk
Hi there, long time no speak. I am doing really well. School is going good, how bout you? I see that you were in a play? I loved drama when I was in school I think that is super cool!! What is new with you? How is school and everything going?
Hi Aspen. In response to your question, yes this is my real hair but trust me honey, it is thinner than it was before. I too have learned to live with it. I too find that people sometimes have a tendancy to be nasty but hay we must remember that the only people we are in control of in this life is ourselves. One of my favorite clichee's is..... Things work out best for those that make the best of the way things work out, lol.
I think you are BEEEEEEAUTIFUL and if you were here in the city of New York i would ask you to come by just that I can style your hair. Have you ever tried to wear it curly. Its really simple you know. Wash your hair with a shampoo (for fuller hair) then use a foam by Loreal (for fuller hair) After you wash your hair take a thin towel and start to crunch your hair while it is slightly tilted. Allow to hair dry with a fan (blowing lightly from under and around) and continue to scrunch it every now and again. Remember the more you tilt your head and have it upside down like the more fuller your hair will dry, then WALAH! Tell me if you try this and if it works for you?
Hay there Aspen. I think that you will find that Loreal is an affordable option, as for school, how has it been with the teasing and all. Are you showing off your fabulousity? Are you greater than your disorder:) I am sure that you are. How old are you anyway?
como0 estas??!! well!!! i love all kind of animals!! but i think that i'm in love with dogs and bears!!! and well i think that i don't have a favorite color! but i like pink and green!! i like all kind of dance!! but i take comtemporary dance lessons! and it's great!! i love it!! and what about you??! what do you doo0o??!!!
Oh, it's a tough day today. One of my closest friends had to have her dog put to sleep last night. She is beside herself. We both have been crying together all day.
hi aspen how you donign??! the weather it's crazy here!!! in the nights it's freezen but in the affternon it's so0o hot!! and right now it's raining!! i don'd know what a hell is gonig on!!! global warming i guess.....
today i stared a new treatment, it's acopuntura, and well let's see how is it goning!!!
and well what's new??!!
xoxo brendaa
Hey there Aspen.
How was your Christmas? It has been a while. I hope school is going good for you! I love the new haircut. I am glad to hear you are doing well. TTYL

Hey, Cutie!
How are you doing? What's up with you?
I just got back from a body shop. I ran my car into another car in a parking lot on Friday night. Jeez! It was dark, the other car was dark -- oh well.
I have been painting crazily to get ready for a show in April. A gallery owner from Port Townsend (Washington) picked up ten of my paintings last week.
Now tell me what you're up to.
LeslieAnn
You are so cute! Yes, I'm fine. The body cast will come off next month. Hahahaha, just kidding. No, the damage to the car is minor, but it's just a hassle having to take it into estimators and pay out the $$ and stuff...
Are there any plays coming up? How are the kids treating you?
