I am a pre-op male too female transgender, 50, and starting too accept who I am. with the help of wigs,. I am able too overcome the pattern baldness I have...I dont mind the wigs soo much, just wish it was a choice and not a necessity...
hey! thank you so much for saying i'm pretty! i'm sorry to hear about your situation. once you find the perfect wig you won't even notice that you have one on anymore. my wig is pretty much just part of me now! good luck with everything and i hope everything gets better!
Hello and welcome, Charlene!
If you want a beautiful wig at the right price, I get mine at Brenda Kay Hair Specialties. They are beautiful virgin European hair, custom made (and will stay on your head), very natural looking and comfortable...and at a price that's about half of what it costs for a Freedom wig. She's in Portland and you can call her at 503-223-8092. She works with people all over the country. Let me know how you do!

I totally understand not feeling comfortable enough to go without a wig. I never go without one and the only person that has seen me without one in the past 5 years is my sister haha. I love my wig and I hate wearing synthetic wigs, they were uncomfortable and didn't look the way I wanted it to. I now like wearing a wig more than having my hair grow back and then fall out again, now I have the freedom to have really long hair and I love it. It does suck having a twin sister that doesn't have it though. I really hope everything is going well for you and that you will feel better about the situation! I get my wigs from the Hair Institute Inc. in Kentucky and I've never been happier with them. You should findout if there is a similar place near you! they let me order 2 wigs at a time so that i will never have to go without one if something happens to one of them. they are hand crafted and i basically feel like its my real hair. good luck
Hi Charlene!
How are you doing today, girlfriend?
Hey, there is a new member who is a transgendered man, and I thought you might want to welcome her. Her name is Sara-Jane Snowden.
Hugs, LeslieAnn
Hi Charlene,
Welcome to the site. I know you'll find everyone here very supportive. There is a group for members getting or interested in getting a New Freedom wig. You should check that out to find out more about vacuum wigs. Take care.
Hi Charlene. Thanks for the gift. I hope you're doing okay. What have you decided on for your wig? I'm waiting on a new wig. It's always a gamble before you see it and an even bigger gamble when someone cuts it for you! Hope you've found some good sources for wigs!
Thanks for the friend request, If you need wig help this is the place for it ... I wear a vaucuum wig now. the only down side is if you still have alot of hair then you need to shave daily or more if your hair grows fast. to have the suction.
Glad to hear that things are okay with you. Let me know how the lace front works out. I'm still waiting for my Freedom Wig to come in. Wednesday I have an appt. to get my current wig coloured. It seems to really fade quickly. Otherwise, still waiting to see what will happen with eyebrows and eyelashes! Hang in and take care, Shannon
