Hi. My name is Lauren Johnson and I am from Alabama. I have a beautiful daughter, a precious fiancee, and an amazing family. I'm just trying to find acceptance in this whole thing, and I hope to find it here!
Hi LAuren! Welcome to a great place. We all understand what you are going thru as well as where you have been.
I hope you find some encouragement here as we all have!
Hi Lauren,
I know how hard it can be. I have had alopecia for about 30 years. After I became the spokesperson for the National Alopecia Areata Foundation, a lot of women were needing my help and support, so I wrote a book called, "If Your Hair Falls Out, Keep Dancing!" It might make you feel better. Check it out on my page -- and let me know how else I can help.

Hi Lauren!! I've been dealing with A/A since age 6.. And A/T since age 14! And not til last week did I tell my closest friends... I'm 21! I have had a hard time dealing with it, but I have found a lot of encouragement through this site and having someone to talk to that knows what you are going through helps SO much! Feel free to message me anytime! Hopefully I can be of some help! ~ Kristin
Thanks Lauren. It's such a huge blow when you find out you have any form of alopecia and acceptance really is the hardest part. Hair loss itself is like a death, and something you have to mourn over just like you would the passing of someone dear to you. But I firmly believe it will make us all stronger eventually. Maybe later rather than sooner, but I'm sure it will happen.
Hi Lauren, I wanted to take this opportunity to welcome you to Alopecia World. I have been living with Alopecia Areata since 1991 and know full well the struggle it can be. I look forward to getting to know you. Cheryl, Co-founder
Hi, thanks for the note. You know, I think the reason I m accepting it so well is that in my mind, it could be so much worse. It could be cancer, or some debilitating disease that robs you of so much more. But it's not. It's hair. It does suck, but my babies love me regardless and think I look pretty cool now. Yours will too. I shaved mine because I was tired of the bald spots and patches. I feel much better without it actually. I get lots of compliments on it. Kinda cool. Good luck to you, and feel free to write anytime!
Hey beautiful... Thanks for the wonderful comments. I look forward to getting to know you but first you have to accept me as a friend!!! You're daughter is so precious and I hope you are staying strong. I am here to lend an ear anytime!
