I'm 33, and recently in the last 2 months discovered a bald patch on the back right of my scalp. Since my hair is shaved down on the sides, it was pretty obvious. over the last 2 months, it has slowly grown. I have been receiving injections and they seem to be sprouting hair within in the patch, but the hair along side the rim of the patch is still falling out. I'm terrified :(
Welcome to AW Ernesto. You're not alone in how you feel and you'll find others who can relate and help. Look around, there's lots of good info and stories here.
Hi Ernesto, I wanted to welcome you to Alopecia World. I can honestly say that we are a great community here and I hope you enjoy the time you spend with us.
I just ready your profile too, you're right, seems like we're on similar timelines here. In terms of staying positive, the first thing I realized is that worrying and stressing over it doesn't help it at all, and may actually make it worse. Secondly (if you read my profile), I've got a blood pressure challenge in front of me that's keeping my mind and spirit occupied. I'm making lots of good progress on that front, so it's, in an odd way, been helpful to draw on that progress. It's not easy for sure, everyone here will tell you that. I hope you can get to a point that you can just let it be for now. Hang in there man, and reach out if you need anything.
Ernesto, how are you doing man? I'm thinking you had a couple of good glasses of wine last night, and now up to a mellow friday morning. Am I right? :-)
Ernesto...what's been going on man? You've been a little on the quiet side...hope that's a good sign that things are on the upswing. Drop a line to let us know how you are. Talk to you soon.
Hey man, was starting to get worried about ya. But, glad to hear the absence was for good reasons! Sorry to hear that today was a worse day...I've had a few of those here and there. I'm doing ok, spotting more dark regrowth in my main spots. I've noticed some shorter hairs falling out in the shower (when I towel off), so I'm REALLY hoping it's not some of the new growth coming out already. Oh well, I can't do a dang thing about it. I'm also debating if I want to continue the scalp injections or not. Maybe we'll catch each other in chat soon. Take care for now!
do you have more pictures....would love to see the real you!
I like what you wrote..you can read some of my blogs...hope they can help too.
Don't let your hair define you...and don't let otehrs perce[ptions keep you from living your authentic life..being yourself.
Hi Ernesto,
I got your comment about my blog and thank you also, cos I actaully have low self esteem and have had since before losing my hair so to receive all these beautiful compliments on my strength of character is very uplifting.
I have had a funny, weird day today, my mood's been a bit down and I should be sooo happy cos I'm in love. I would choose alopecia over depression, anxiety and OCD anyday. Hope you're having a better day and I will read your blog soon, my batteries about to go. Cheers, Kimba
Hey Ernesto,
Thanks for the add. I just wanted to say that you are a very handsome guy with hair or with a shaved head. Hang in there, life is too good to let it pass by. Embrace all the crappiness you're going through because once you leave it (which you will eventually) you'll never want to go back to that place and that's when you know you are living again...maybe with less hair, but with a stronger attitude. Stay handsome.
Keep smiling
Jenn
Ernesto, where've you been man? I know, you've not be coming here too much, but wanted to drop a note to see how you are. Hope things are going better than when we last chatted. Drop me a line and take care.
Good to hear from you Ernesto and definitely glad to hear there's at least some postives going on though. I've still got my regrowth in the center of the spots like you do, but also like you, some shedding here and there still. Any big plans for Thanksgiving for you?
I saw a comment you left about you thinking that you were losing an eyebrow, but that you could be imagining it. I thought the same at one point and it didn't come to anything (and hopefully never will). I think that the panic that sets in when you have AA makes you see and worry about things that might not necessarily be happening.
Happy New Year to you too. Hope it's a better year for us all!
I'm still pretty much the same hairwise. I've still got a good amount of regrowth (with a couple of bits to fill in completely) so really happy about that. I'm still totally paranoid about my hair though. There's a bit giving me a bit of concern as I can't quite work out if a new patch is starting or if it's an older patch that's still to fill in. It does look a bit on the pink side so I'm fearing the worst, to be honest. Hopefully it's just an isolated incident as the thought of having multiple patches again fills me with a huge fear! I'm sure you can sympathise with that feeling!
Hey Ernesto...where have u been man? I've kinda been MIA too, but really haven't heard from you in a while. How's life in the new apartment? Hope it's adding positive vibes to your recovery on the alopecia man. Drop me a line and an update when you can.
