    I often ask the students who start to whisper behind my back (but enough for me to know I am about to be outted on my alopecia) to either discuss or write a paper on what they would feel and do if they suddenly lost a body part due to an incurable disease (and had rude comments made about it from so-called "friends"). Sometimes, midway through the paper, one savvy student will get an "Aha!" look on the face, and figure out that MY lost body part is my hair. You might soften the blow for your FB friends by asking this on your status (without telling what is happening to you yet), and deleting any friends who have moronic answers. Do this before your alopecia gets worse. Those people will NOT be good for you. Keeps the sensitive ones out of the 600.
