Profile Information:

Relationship Status:
Married
About Me:
I'm a wife and mother of 2. I was diagnosed with Alopecia in 2006. Going bald has been a pretty traumatic experience for me. I was also diagnosed with multiple sclerosis two years prior to my Alopecia, which didn't upset me half as much as going bald. I look back and think how silly is that, hair vs. my body functioning properly. I was wearing wigs for many years until I realized that for others to accept me, I must accept myself first. I feel much more comfortable just being me. No more hiding.
Do you have alopecia?
Alopecia areata
Are you age 18 or older?
Yes - I am 18 or older

It is scary Pat goes bald at the beach but not in general public areas. Its a difficult decision hope you can make the right one for you.

She sure is and I know how it hurts her to have alopecia she feels like a freak and no matter what I say it just gets her down, we both hate aloecia with a passion.

Great comment T just what Pat says it is not good having options with hair it sucks big time. We think everything you said is valid and perfectly normal. Love you're honesty.

Hi T, thanks for the friend add. Maybe see you on chat sometime? I understand your reluctance to go bald in public...I've worn wigs for 20 years and still dont go out bald except I have gone bald at the beach. Not everyone is comfortable going bald in public and that's okay!

Thank you Tammy yes i did write the poem thank you it meant alot to me at the time. Your story is inspiring, Ive also been contemplating going wiggless but your right it is down right scary,!!

  • jenna

u look pretty young yourself to have kids that age:) that is very brave of u to make the decision to go without a wig. Me I have thought about shaving and using a wig, but have never my hairloss is underneath so its been fairly easy to hide akward to go to hairdresser, or when the its windy out though. I have just finally started to wear no eyebrow pencil around the house!, which believe me is a big stepl 4 me no1 has ever seen me without my eyebrows. Good luck on the weekend!!,look forward to getting to know you :)

Hey T. I just read your profile. You are right in saying that hair does not make the person.
