There was a meeting just last week, but it was very...small. I think it might be nice to just meet up socially for a meeting with the others who live in the area. Perhaps we could do that. It seems as if there about 4-5 of us on here from the area. I can give you the support group leader's e-mail if you would like.
  • kastababy

Hi Deeann, and welcome!!! I look forward to getting to know you!!!
  • Suzanne Thompson

Hey, girl! It was great meeting up with you here in Seattle. How was the meeting? Did you book the Louisville trip yet? Wondering if maybe we could try to book flights together. Please call whenever you are planning to be in the Seattle area, I'd love to meet up again.
  • Suzanne Thompson

Hey, I havent' booked yet. Planning to this week. Just finally decided to go for sure. I was thinking a red eye on Weds. but I am going t fly into Columbus Ohio and meet up with Cheryl Ann, and drive down (its cheaper, and I also have friends there), then back up on Tues, after staying in Kentucky an extra day to do a bourbon tour! Wanna join us?

    Hi Deeann,
Just thought I'd say hello, being a fellow Northwesterner. I live in Portland and I've had AU for 20 years.

  • Deeann

Please let me know when you make it up North. Will you be attending the conference in Louisville next week?
  • Roger

    Hi Deeann.

Hope to see you in Louisville.

    Roger.
  • Roger

Deeann - howdy and thanks for giving a shout. How are things up in KSER country?
I see the show's conversation covering AA/AU itself, what it is/what it's not; what we know/don't know; your story (and any other guests we might have); Alopecia World itself; maybe be joined by a dermatologist and of course NBO and it's purpose/goal. It's strictly conversational; designed to let listeners in and not assume they're already familiar with the topic.

Another bit of disclosure, btw; as you've read, I don't have alopecia - but I have in fact been shaving my head for 16 years now - in case such puts you ill at ease.

    hope that makes sense,
    John
  • John Ford

Well - let me work on some of the other details; perhaps coordinating with the creator of NBO to round up another phone-in or two... we'll talk. :)
  • John Ford

Hi Deeann... tripped'n fell crossin' the street today... 3 stitches in my elbow, a splint on my left wrist and a broken left big toe... needless to say, I'm takin' a couple o'days off - including the show.

In a way, that's good; I'd prefer a more planned out show as opposed to working against deadline.

As ever drop a line when the mood suits...

    be well,
    John

  • Annette Thompson

Hi Deeann--thank you for your warm welcome! It would be nice to meet someone else who has dealt with alopecia for years.....I work full time but could meet around that, maybe Everett? I don't know Mount Vernon that well.
  • Annette Thompson

    Hi Deeann,
How are things in Mt Vernon? Got some new head coverings this
week so am experimenting with not wearing my wigs all the time-- with
mixed success. I have some days off in the next month. Would you like to try and meet?
  • JeffreySF

Hi Deeann, Nice to hear from you :) I was sorry to miss the get together last weekend but hope you and everyone else had a good time. I have been really busy lately but Im hoping to make the next one. How are things going for you?

  • ANVan

I haven't been to a NAAF conference in yrs but I remember it was a lot of fun and great to meet so many new people...especially if you have never met anyone else with alopecia. Im sure you have quite a few friends going so you must be looking forward to it. I have been working a lot of overtime but finally having a relaxing night :)

  • Nicole

Hi Deeann! I just read your message about you writing a book on Alopecia. I would love to share my story.

  • Nicole

Yes, I can't wait to talk to you. It feels good to be on the happy side of Alopecia. I wish I could attend the conference, just couldn't fit it in my budget.

  • Nicole

I will send you my personal info via email.

No, I have never attended any of the conferences. I am only 25 mins from DC, so I may just pop up and see who I can meet. It would be nice to meet other women to share our experiences.

My nails are actually growing back thanks to the vitamin D my doctor prescribed for me. It's just not producing any hair growth like I had wished.

  • Nicole

That sounds great! I just sent you an email.
