Hello! My name is Devon and I'm 1 9. About two years ago, I started loosing patches of hair and they have become worse over time.
At first, I thought it was from stress (my dad had a stroke) but I discovered it is alopecia. I'm happy there is this website to communicate with people who have the same problem as me. I make Youtube videos to help those struggling with Alopecia, Bullying, self harming, etc. and I would LOVE to be friends with you :) Go check them out! www.youtube.com/philadelphiaprep

Hi Devon. I do not have my own computer, just one that I use here at the downtown Milwaukee WI Library. I am 57, S,& nvr marr. I hav had aleopecia univseralis total body hair loss since I was about 13. My parents bought me my 1st wig when I was 15. and I hid under one until about 8 years ago. Now I wear a cap all the time bec I am just so used to having something on my head. In any case, even though wearing the wig all those years may have saved my sanity. It only inhibited me from approaching women over the last 40 years os so. Even when I was wearing the wig I could not hide the fact that I had no eye brows or eye lashes. To this day I have never had a girl friend or rel in my whole life. I lost my virginity at age 48. Prior to that I had not touched a women since about 1989. I know that to a large extent it is my fault for not taking more social chances in life. But when I have women just have not been interested. Now days I am surrounded by 20-30 something women on top of that on the east side of MIlw. I work out at the downtown YMCA 5 days a week and I do not look my age at all. I also have no problem with getting together with any one who is so much younger than I. But thats just me. In any case, I thank you for your sentiment. You seem like a real sweeheart. But in my whole adult life I have never heard any woman tell me what you have. So I have a exteremly hard time believing it. Later, Mark Hansen

Im sorry to put a damper on any ones use of any medication to try to alevatve hair loss. But the only predictable thing about aleopecia is its comp unpredictability. If Steriods help at all it will only be temprorary. But good luck. with Love and kindness, Mark

Look into bonded toppers and lace front wigs very realistic looking.  I have it and so does my teenager.
