Hi Dolly, ive been to your profile and read the about me section. I would like to ask you something how long after your first born did you see the spot and how big was it? All the best!

No, from California, USA. I have a distant cousin, our great grandmothers were sisters that had AA and her hair grew back for awhile and now she has AU. Dr.'s say this is too distant of a relationship to be considered genetic. From what I have read there is usually someone in your family that had Alopecia. I am educating people along the way as to the difference between women at my work with female pattern baldness and Alopecia. I let everyone know about my condition in case at some point the loss accelerates.

Hi Dolly, I'm sorry, I haven't been on this website a lot in the past year and just saw your message.  I was only on the mtx and steroid for a short period because as soon as it worked, I stopped everything to get pregnant. The doctor's planned to was ween me off the steroids after a year if I got growth back.  Everything was on hold for 3 yrs.  Now he doesn't want to have me go back to mtx and wants to wait for a topical biologic.  I'm also a good candidate for clinical trials, but you can't do those if you have been doing other treatments. After 4 yrs, I'm used to wigs and am not so desperate. I did get impatient in May and started using Hair Up.  You have to have some hair -- which I got back with Vit D 10K doses -- for that to work.  I had fuzz for over a year with no progression.  This seems to be working.  It's spotty and not sure I'll ever be able to forgo wigs, but nice to have some coverage.  I got to the screening stage of a trial and reading the side effects had me really scared so I think going with topical solutions are the way to go.
