I have had Alopecia Areata when I was 14. The doctor said my Alopecia was from stress, but in actuality I had no stress... all I wanted to do was play stick ball and chase pretty girls. My parents took me to a doctor who gave me cortisone injections to my head, without any success. The Alopecia roamed about my head for a while, while receiving the injections. Eventually, my hair grew back by itself.
My second bout was when I was older, I noticed a white streak of hair growing at the back of my head. My dermatologist told me it was my Alopecia Areata growing in a gain... eventually my hair turned brown again.
At present I wear a hairpiece of my own design. Being a hairstylist for film, television and theater for 40 years, with the unforgiving eye of the camera, I saw the need to develop an undetectable product. Visit my website www.josephparis.com.
I am currently developing a website dedicated to Alopecia, which will be ready in the fall.
Hi Joseph..Cause of a telogen effluvium I lost a lot of hair..I bought a natural hair machine-made wig from a Jewish shop here In Argentina but it´s very rough at the front and hurts me a bit...I´m very scared cause I dont know if there are wigs that U can wear every day without problem...Another question..do hair grow all the same if you wear a wig?
Hey Joseph,
Awhile back, you gave me easy instructions on how to de-frizz a synthetic wig. I can't find them. Would you mind giving them to me again? Thanks so much!
