- I'm 26yrs old and discovered a small smooth bald patch on the top of my head and today have been diagnosed with alopecia areata. I have been depressed and highly stressed for two years following a very traumatic experience. My health hasn't been great and I'm hoping this is just a result of my stress and my hair will grow back. I'm very very upset about it as nothing seems to be going great for me right now and my self esteem is already very low. I have a 3yr old daughter who is my world so I hide behind a happy face. I'm hoping to gain some knowledge about alopecia on this site and hopefully some support from someone/people who has also suffered or suffering from alopecia. xox
