- My daughter who is now 8 years old has Alopecia. I can hardly handle the saddness I feel for her as her mother. I feel so helpless - I wish I could do something for her. She seem so strong -- I am so proud of her. I wish I knew exactly how to support her - I just love her so much.

I know how hard alopecia can be for parents. Sometimes harder than it is for the kids themselves. I have had universalis for about 30 years and wrote a book for women and it includes a chapter about parenting kids with alopecia. It's called "If Your Hair Falls Out, Keep Dancing!" (It just won two national awards!) It has helped a lot of women and kids -- there is lot of good info in it, it can answer many questions, and it's a fun read, too. You can find out more on my page.
