Hi Chrissi. I'm so sorry you are going through this. My 2 1/2 year old son was diagnosed with a AA a couple months ago, and while it is grown back in, I anticipate many more years of unpredictable hair loss. No fun. No fun at all.
How big were your son's spots when he got them and how quickly did they take to grow back? I've heard of cases that progress to AT and then grow back...so keep your head up. I hope he's handling it okay.
Hi Chrissi. My family has been through the same thing. Our granddaughter will be 11 next month and has had no hair on her head since she was 8. It has been very hard but it gets some better. We attended Alopeciapalooza (a summer camp) last year and met lots of other families who are also dealing with this. I highly reccommend it. Its in August and will be held at Wrightsville Beach in North Carolina. Google CAP Kids. Its a great resource. I truly understand how you are feeling right now. How is your son handling it? Try to find a support group. CAP Kids can help you find others families affected by alopecia in your area. You are not alone:-)

Hello and welcome, Chrissi!
How are you and your child today?
