- I have had alopecia since my first loss at age three. Had areata until age 42. Now have totalis. I also have vitiligo (are there any groups for alopecians w vitiligo?) I have a great life with my husband and live fairly close to my daughters and beautiful grandababies. I live in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mtns. in SC and make my living teaching elementary school.
