- I am a mother of three little boys. My middle son,Gavin, has alopecia. Gavin started losing his hair around 2 years old. Today at 7 years old, the only hair he has is his eyelashes. I've met only very few people with alopecia and I think that may be partly why this subject is so emotional to me.
Every school year, I give the "Gavin" talk to his new teacher(s). Basically, educating them about how Gavin has alopecia and my expectations (if anything happens). In hopes that it'll make it easier for Gavin in the classroom.
