Hello D,
Welcome to Alopecia World! I am 64, and have had alopecia universalis for 8 years now. You are not alone, and I totally understand feeling like having a nervous breakdown. I looked in the mirror one morning while brushing my teeth in the bathroom and had a startle reaction - an alien was staring back at me.
We've made friends now and I've found a new calling writing and speaking and working to help women navigate the emotional and social impacts of female hair loss.
