I am just now getting back to the wonderful messages of thoughts and prayers for my daughter, Kristin. I had the best sleep in 10 days last night because she is home from the hospital. Thank you for thinking of us and your prayers were heard loud and clear. Hope all is well with you and yours.
Love and Hugs,
Dotty
Several years ago I had a vaccuum wig, and quite hoenstly I did not like it as much as the type I now have. It was hot to wear, and when my head sweat I was always having to push down to re-seal the vaccuum. The cost of them is very high. It did last me several years longer than the ones I wear now, but like I said I did not feel as comfortable or as secure as I like. I understand they are making them with a new material that is much thinner now though so maybe it is a better product. I wear a piece that I secure with tape and I love it. It has a lace front and a silicone all areound the edges for the tape to be secured. The cap is made from a monfilament that gives me a great part and is very breathable. I am going on thrusday to meet my hair maker to look into a new product made from a new synthetic material like that of cyberhair that is supposed to be really great and easier to maintain than human hair. It is a poly / nylon blend. I am told that you can not even tell it is not human hair and it is amazingly durable.
It has only been since I have been with my husband that I hae started to tell my close friends about my alopecia. SOe have been suprised at first, but everyone has been really accepting. My girlfriends think it is cool that I do not have to shave my legs. I have to say that every relationship I have been in, I have eventually told the man that I have alopecia. There is hope for yo finding a great man out there. I have found it was easiest for me to be in the relationship for a while for us to get to know each other, then when I do tell them it is easier to accept. Do you go bald most of the time, or like many of us do you wear a wig to fit in to society? Thanks for the feedback on your tattoo. I nw just need to decide what I want to get and how much of my head i want to be covered.
