I've had alopecia areata for about 12 years now and I've been wearing a wig for 6 years. My mother started a support group in my area (Rochester, NY) so that I would have the opportunity to finally meet other people with this condition. She is the most amazing woman. I have a wonderful fiance of almost 5 years who loves me exactly the way I am. I am so appreciative of the people who take the time to start websites and on-line groups because it raises much needed awareness and provides support for all "alopecians" no matter what stage of this condition we're in.
Hi! I'm actually not in Buffalo yet. I am going there in 2 weeks for orientation and then I move up there around the middle of August. I'm pretty excited, but nervous at the same time about being in a new place. Do you like Rochester? I drove around there when I went to look at SUNy Geneseo...looks pretty nice.
sorry i couldn't come to the march meeting. i really wanted to but i had to work. my shedule comes out way before the meetings are scheduled so i dont get a chance to ask off cause i'm not sure when the meetings are. when is the next one? my guess is the end of may, and unfortunetely i will be gone then...... but fortunetly i will be on vacation!
I will be up in Syracuse this coming weekend April 3, 4 and 5 for a Massage Therapy Convention. I'm staying at Sheraton Syracuse University Hotel & Conference Center 801 University Ave · Syracuse, NY 13210 · I'll be sharing a room with a fellow member. Maybe we can meet up for a drink. My cell number is 8452331186. Take care, Karen
