- I was 11yrs old when my mother discovered my first bald spot, my hair would get very tangled and my mom would try to brush it out, she started noticing more and more hair falling out.until she decided it was time to go see a dermatologist. Thsts when I was diagnosed with alopecia areta, I was so embarrassed I did not want to go to school, all I did was lock my self in the room and isolated my self from others. I was in elemantary 5th grade, my mom had to go speak to the principal so they would allow me to wear a cap. I hated to be questioned by other kids, they wondered why I wad tge only kid in school able to wear hats. As I was about to start middle school we started looking for options until my mom decided to buy me a wig. My parents were hard working parents and lived pay check to pay check it was hard for them to spend that kind of money. My mom never gave up and even though the dermatologist told her my hair might never grow back she kept looking, until she found a Trichology clinic. I started with treatments not very cheap but my parents managed to pay every songle session and I never missed an appointment.we started seeing results and in 2 years my hair grew back.
This made me apreciate things in life, like how my parents were there for me, and it made me see life so differently. At such a young age going through this was hard but it helped me be the strong woman I am today.
