I'm 44 years old and I have been experiencing this situation since I was 24, I have never had problem since last year wen I fell in love with a girl who, I think , does not like the way I look bald, and now I'm losing confidence in myself.
Try not to think that the relationship has ended because of baldness - you say you have been with Alopecia since 24 years of age so this girl met you with Alopecia so it didn't matter to her then. Maybe the relationship has ended just because some relationships just do not work out not because a person is bald.
I would date a guy if he was bald I see no problem, the guys I have met and fallen in love with in my lifetime have been fun/caring and often than not it rarely because of how they look.
Get your confidence back and get back out dating I say!!!!
Welcome to AW. If you're not sure whether she likes you the way you are, then explain AU to her ask her outright before getting further into the relationship. Once in the relationship, she'll find out for herself fairly quickly, so you might as well clear the air up front. Don't second guess yourself or her by thinking that she doesn't like it or is not interested without asking her, though. If she gives you a non-answer, is not interested or evades the question, then she may not be the right match for you. On the other hand, she may find it very attractive. So, ask her.
Don't lose your confidence over one person, though. Every person is attracted to different things in different people which is why we all have differences. Your confidence in yourself is what matters, though, as that's what others will ultimately see in you and be attracted to. Confidence in yourself and the way you look goes a long way. It's not just about the hair, either. It's about the total package including how you dress, talk, act, carry yourself, your confidence and how you interact with other people. If you can look past your AU, so can your friends and relationships in life.
If the girl left because she didn't like to way you look bald then she was not the one for you. Good riddens! Don't lose your confidence, your still nice looking in my opinion. Good luck.
Hey man, I hear ya about the girl thing. just left a relationship while this was happening. Part of me can't help but wonder if it impacted the relationship at all. One positive thing that has helped me a bit is getting injections in my eyebrows. Im seeing some positive growth as well.
