- I have dealt with alopecia for over 30 yrs. I am now 73 years old and it is truly embarrassing to go out in public without some sort of wig or hat. I even had my hairpiece blow off during the eclipse as it was a new one and I was looking up a lot and it fell off my head. It was so embarrassing as I was surrounding by a lot of people I didn't know. It's terrible to never look good unless you have something on your head. I have not found a solution to it and tried many things to make it better.
