Hey Harris, sorry it took so long to get back to you. My best advice to you is to surround yourself with people who truly care about you and who accept you for who you are. High school can be tough but it's also a place where children mature into adults (in most cases). Alopecia, although not a deadly disease, still really takes a toll on a person's self confidence. I remember in elementary school that there were some days that I just wanted to hide out in my room because kids don't understand. I first was diagnosed with Alopecia when I was in the 3rd grade (8 years ago). It gets easier with each passing year, the acceptance, relationships...etc. There are really high quality wigs for sale at http://www.hisandher.com/ this is where I purchase my wigs and they look realistic and last a long time. They are also very inexpensive compared to most wig sites. My mom is a hair dresser and she buys all of her extensions that she uses on clients from this site. You should take a look! Good luck in high school! Study hard and stay strong and you will accomplish great things!
