We have been hearing A LOT about the new FDA Approved Lilly and Incyte's OLUMIANT® (baricitinib) drug. We would like to start a discussion here on Alopecia World with people who have tried it, are trying it, or considering trying it. This is a place you can discuss both success as well as side-effects and objections to trying the drug. Hoping this form will help people with alopecia make more informed decisions. A place that hopefully we can get real users’ comments and reactions. Maybe…See More
This group is for women who have taken the bull by the horns and decided to shave their heads. It is also for those that aspire to someday shave their head. Hopefully we can provide support, guidance and compassion to one another.See More
Hi Judith, I have alopecia totalis. Had areata many years back but have had alopecia for 30+yrs. Yes the bald spots sweat a bit. Don't know about wig situation because I wear a scarf/bandanna and a cap when I go out. Gonna have a motivational Sun. Feb. 21. Might be people there that would be able to talk with you about wigs, etc. You're invited to the motivational. Check the events section on this web. E mail me if you're available to come.
i found on a group saying that you want to get together with people in NYC who have AT. i have AU, but i am bald... its like that same thing, but mine decided that it like the rest of my body as well.
Well i just wanted to say that i would love to meet people in the NYC area
well you should probably buy a wig cap to hold in your hair under the wig but i'm not sure how that works because i have no hair. lol.
maybe you should wait till you get it to see how it feels without any wig cap. if you don't like the way it feels without a wig cap you can always just run out to your local wig shop and get a wig cap =)
hope i helped!
i don't know much on the wig cap subject. lol, never needed one =D
and if you're on a buying spree (lol) try voguewigs.com and look at the forever young wig line. they are VERY inexpensive (40$ on sale right now) synthetic wigs and just got mine! i LOVE THEM!! the synthetic hair feels sooo real and soft that i wanted to walk around my house forever just to ask everyone to feel it! lol!! so pleased!
i get mine in California at his&hers. they are really inexpensive, the synthetic ones look really natural and they last about 6 months if you take good care of them. i'm getting my first real hair wig from there in about a week so i will definitely let you know about the real hair ones.. but i've been wearing the synthetic because they are so easy to just throw on and you don't even have to style it.
you can look online at http://www.hisandher.com/
=) i also ordered two synthetic wigs from the forever young line at voguewigs.com. the company seems to be really popular and they have sales and clearances on certain wigs which is always good! save money, lol.
