I'm 55 and never thought I would have so many medical issues. Alopecia Universalis became an acute problem about two years ago. Yes all body hair has gone and it has been very difficult looking in the mirror and seeing a person I do not recognize. On top of this I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia October 2012. My thyroid has received a proper name, Hashimoto’s disease which is an autoimmune disease that affects the thyroid. It also is called Hashimoto’s thyroiditis (theye-royd-EYET-uhss). Notice autoimmune just like alopecia. Apparently my body likes attacking itself and with Fibo, Hashimoto and alopecia you have to know problems are like lego blocks stacking up against me.
