I have been experiencing hair loss since end of 2009 it seems to just continue and no stopping out. i used to love my hair. it was fine not thick but there was alot of it. the last time i went to the hairdressers was end of 2009 when i got my usual 3 or so months blonde tint straight on the scalp. i noticed it burnt alot more then normal that time and it blistered up. since then it just has been slowly falling out and keeps looking thinner and the middle part of my scalp is showing more and more. i don't use anything to treat my hair loss i guess i just hope one day it will magically come back or stop falling out. i am new to this site and will add pictures up before i started losing my hair and over the last two years. I came across this site and it seems like a great forum for everyone to help each other with our hair loss etc. not many people know i am going through this only close friends and few family members it is so depressing going through this. my thoughts ever since i noticed this was i'm eventually going to have to wear a wig :( why do us women have to go through this :(

Hi Lauren, Sorry to hear that you have had such a rough time over the last few years. Hope things have turned around for you and that you are getting your life back together. Does anyone in your family have alopecia? My mother and great aunt have alopecia so it was no great surprise when I discovered I had it at 16. Stress and diet have an impact on our hair so your hair might improve once things get better for you. I was stressed out last year, my immune system took a battering and then came the hair loss. I already had really thin hair so it totally freaked me out when I started loosing the precious little which I still had. It has stopped falling out but no regrowth yet. Still waiting, waiting, waiting...! Take care and be kind to yourself. Have a great week.
Hi Lauren,
Good to hear from someone else in Melbourne. Um...not really I guess since it would be heaps better not to have alopecia and be looking at this website... Have you seen a doctor or dermatologist? It's great that you are talking to friends and family about this. It took me ages to talk about my alopecia with friends eventhough my alopecia is so advanced that you literally have to be blind not to notice! Good luck with things and take care of yourself.
