- I am 31 years old and I have Alopecia. I've had alopecia for 30 years. It started when I was one years old. My hair would fall and come back, until it completely fell out when I was 15. Growing up, it was very hard seeing my hair fall and not understanding why. I felt alone and sad. I would see other girls with their hair and I would cry and wonder why did I have to be different. But as I got older, I started accepting myself and loving myself for who I am. I now have a five year old little girl and she ask's me questions about my hair. I tell her that sometimes our body doesn't want hair, and thats what happened with me. But not having hair doesn't change who I am and how I feel. It is great to finally find a place where I could be myself and meet other's that have what I have.
