I was diagnosed with FFA a few months ago. I was originally diagnosed with Alopecia Mucinosa 3 years ago from a biopsy. My dermatologist thought I had Lupus. We biopsied my rash and she diagnosed me with Alopecia Mucinosa. A few months ago she noticed that I had little bumps around my temples and I pointed out the whiteness around my hairline making my face look like a mask. She did 2 more biopsies. This time in my frontal hairline and my eyebrow. That is when she changed my diagnosis to FFA. We did injections into my eyebrows and along my hairline. I have lost 90% of my the hair on my legs, underarms, arms, and eyebrows. I have about an inch of white scarring along my frontal hairline. My hair has thinned overall especially at the crown.my doctor moved out of state and I was referred to another dermatologist in from her firm. The new doctor quit injections and put me on a topical. She also wants me to take Plaquinel which makes me sick.
