Scared of this and I just need someone, a someone who is a faceless being to chat with, I have Hashimoto's. Doctor has had me on Synthroid .250 for yrs now, still not under control. And now my hair dresser tells me that I have a huge spot near my neck line that is completely without hair, and it is getting bigger. Doctor tried an injection in the spot, didn't work. Since I am really a newlywed... I was worried how my husband would react to the news. His words to me were a breath of fresh air... we'll rub that spot for luck baby!!! wink, it's no big deal to me. As long as it's nothing serious wrong with you. Sweet huh? Gotta love that man, and I do. But it's kinda scary still. I am in a small town here. I mean SMALL!!!!! We worry about cows, weather... whats next for me? Will I keep losing hair? Will someone read this?

Hello and welcome, Nelody!
I know how hard it can be. I have had alopecia for about 30 years. After I became the spokesperson for the National Alopecia Areata Foundation, a lot of women were needing my help and support, so I wrote a book called, "If Your Hair Falls Out, Keep Dancing!" It might make you feel better. You can find out more on my page -- and let me know if there's anything else I can do!
