Alopecia Universalis
Hello everyone :)
My name is Maria, I am 20-year-old and I live in Spain.
I am a woman who lost her hair when she was one-year-old. My hair grew back the next year but at the age of 8, my hair fell again. I have been bald ever since. All over my head are written the words "elegance" and "happiness".
People have shared their stories with me, they have laughed at me or make compliments to me. I have been asked very rude questions but I have also met incredible people.
That is what Alopecia Universalis mean to me: a life journey.
For as long as I can rememeber, I have always felt alopecia as a blessing.This gift call AAU (alopecia areata universalis) is quite rare, just 0,0005% of the population. We have to be PROUD because we have learned to respect other people (so many people are disrespectful to us) and to love ourselves.
If any parents are reading this and their child has alopecia, I would like to share some of my thoughts : Your kid is not ill, he/she is just experimenting an incredible way of living. Keep being strong because they need you more than anything.

Oh de Burgos, gran tierra!! Pues si que comente con un dermatólogo y tal y no me aclaró mucho...y de nada mujer!! encantado de conocerte!! Siempre es una gozada poder hablar con gente en castellano que por aquí no abunda jeje...A ver si coincidimos un día en el chat y podemos hablar un ratillo, cuídate!!
Hola María, encantado de conocerte, si soy español, de Castellón, y tu? A mi me cae el pelo en diferentes epocas del año, no se si es alopecia o no jeje, pero como tu dices, hay que estar feliz jeje
