Just realised I hate writing/talking about myself..(",)
Anyhoots, Ive had Alopecia Universalis since 2001 and I was 21 years old at the time, its a year that I can never forget for the obvious reasons.
like some people I have good and bad days with it, 95% of them days are good but its that 5% bad days are a bummer. They usually happen in the summer months when I wish to feel the breeze in my hair when driving with the roof down, you know, the little things.
Strangely enough, once I lost all my hair I became a chef and after nearly 20 years in the industry I left when I hit 40 to pursue a more meaningful career. I now work with adults that are on the autistic spectrum and love it just as much as my cheffing career.
By nature, Im not a stressful person and it was crazy how many people assumed it was the career/industry that was the cause of my alopecia.
Im at peace with it and I do love the fact that my body is super smooth, however I do wear bandanas, caps and beanies, actually, I never leave the house with some sort of hat on.
