- I was 24 when alopecia areata first made an appearance in my life. I am now 31 and for 4 years I haven't had an issue with my hair until March 30th. I have a very supportive man in my life who is truly my rock. My family is also a big support for me as well and if I didn't have those people in my life, I'm sure this would be much more difficult.
I have come to accept that I cannot change what happens and alopecia will do it's thing despite how angry or sad I get about it. I refuse to allow it to bring me down.
