- Boy, did it ever take me a long time to get used to this. I've lost all my beautiful hair. I just didn't know how to go about in this world without it. It has had a profound psychological effect. Devastating, really. I've worked with a doctor (or twelve) but lotions, creams and 2 years of steroid injections did nothing. I'm now in a wig (something I never thought I'd be able to wear) and am coping.
