- I've always had thin hair but managed to make it look okay. I've used extensions for over 25 years but started to use wigs about six years ago but I could still manage to make my hair look acceptable with Toppix like fibers and clips that had hair attached. In the last two years it has become impossible to make my own hair look okay.The sides and top are so thin, wispy and broken off that I can't even pull it back anymore. I feel inherently ugly because of my hair and insecure about wearing a wig. However - I've gotten SO many compliments on "my" hair style when I'm wearing one of my wigs. I am trying to embrace wearing them and enjoy the fact that they look better than my own hair ever could.If I could embrace the idea it could actually be fun.
