Hello
I'm Patrick from Quebec, Canada. I'm 34. In july 2009 I noticed 2 round hairless spots in the back of my head. With time they gradually got bigger. I now have 3 spots, one larger (1in x 2 in) right in the middle, one medium (1 inch x inch) and a smaller one. It hasn't evolved much over the last few months. My doctor has prescribed me a lotion called Elocom which didn't do anything. I'm thinking of getting the cortisone injections because a colleague of mine said she has had the same condition years ago and the injections made her hair regrow and it never came back. My hair is very short and the spot look strange and people keep asking me what's wrong with my hair... I keep reading stories of people which started having a few spots like me and then it got to the point where they had almost no hair at all. I'm wondering if this is what will happen to me too!
I forgot to mention that in 2008 the hair on my chin stopped growing too and it never got back to this day. I don't mind because I would shave it anyway.
The spots appeared when me and my ex separated. It may or may not be related but I do think it is... I have two little kids that live with me part time. They are the most precious thing I have.
I wish the best of luck to everyone!
UPDATE June 13th 2010:
The spots have gotten bigger over the last few weeks, to the point where they are all just one big awkward hairless spot... I decided to shave my head on the back and the sides, and leave a short lenght of hair on the top... Thats a start, and since I noticed a new spot on the top today I might as well shave it all off completly very soon. I wish I could get an appointment with a dermatologist fast enough but it's probably going to be months away and I'm afraid it's gonna be too late for any kind of treatment.
Patrick
