I'm 58 years old and about five months ago I noticed I was having to clean a lot of hair from my brush daily and my pony tail seemed much smaller. As time went on I realized my hair was really thinning and about two months later I went to a dermatologist who did a biopsy which diagnosed me with telogen effluvium (androgenetic alopecia). I've lost so much hair now I barely have enough to cover the crown of my head and it's still falling out. I've bought a few wigs, but still don't feel comfortable about wearing them. I know at some point I'll have to. Every day I wake up hoping it's just a bad dream. I feel so alone even though I have a very supportive husband and son. I just hope I can come to accept this and be the happy person I used to be.
