- I'm 24 years old and have had alopecia aereata on and off for the last 10 years I've always tried not to let it get me down and look at the positive sides of life! Telling my self things could be a lot worse and overall I feel like I've been given a good hand of cards compared to a lot of people out there. Over the last two years the alopecia has become a lot more aggressive stripping me of over 50% of my hair, my beard, eye brows and and eye lashes. It's been a pretty bad inconvenience but I still live life fully and let's just say I own my fair share of hats ha. I'm in to a lot of extreme sports and I never would have relished how much I missed the brows and am eye lashes always getting stuff my eyes! Just saw this web sight and seemed like a good thing to get involved with! If I'm honest I've never really ever met a fellow alopecia sufferer in person and after reading other peoples stories on this sight it has made me feel a lot better knowing that I'm not the only one affected by this and has inspired me to realise that worrying about things is just not an option! live life and be glad for what we have!
