- I don't have alopecia myself but my younger sister does. She found patches of hair missing when she was fourteen and lost her hair, eyelashes and eyebrows in the same year. She has since set up a charity to raise awareness of alopecia as an autoimmune disease. Her charity is called Autoimmune Alopecia UK.
