Alopecia areata is so unpredictable, so nothing -- and everything -- is typical! Sometimes it even goes away on its own and never returns.
The hardest thing is when it comes and goes like yours. I have universalis, no hair anywhere, and I think it's the easiest to cope with since I know I won't have patches (it's all gone) and I don't have to shave my legs!
