About Me:
I amd married with 2 children. I have had Alopecia since I was in high school. My 1st year in college, I lost all my hair including my eyebrows and eyelashes. It stayed that way for about 3 years. I started to get injections in my eyebrows and my hair started to grow back. The Alopecia was dormant for many years. It even laid dormant during a bout with cancer which included radiationj and 2 rounds of chemo. My hair came back after the chemo. Now a year later, the Alopecia has come back with a vengance. It is rapidly falling out and I have a feeling I will be completely bald within a few months.

Hi Traci,
I searched lace wigs and came it came up with one of your posts about toplace. Can you tell me what your experience was like? Are you happy with your lace wig?

Hi Traci,

thanks for replying to my discussion. sometimes i have suicidal thoughts, i know this is so stupid. i made my hair define me more than having myself define my hair. haha. do you understand what I mean? i am a nurse, i see alot of cancer patients, and actually one of the hardest thing i heard from my cancer patients is losing their hair. that way, everyone knows they have cancer. i feel like a cancer patient look a like when i walk around the streets. i hate this conditon because everyone knows i have a problem, and it forces me to be strong. it sucks that this world pays so much attention to looks more than what is in the inside. i am wearing a wig now, but i am so scare to go out on rainy days, scare to go out on windy days because my wig might blow off. i am praying to god everyday that my hair will come back. i am going crazy. alopecia sucks...T.T

Hello and welcome, Traci!
I know how hard it can be. I have had alopecia for about 30 years. After I became the spokesperson for the National Alopecia Areata Foundation, a lot of women were needing my help and support, so I wrote a book called, "If Your Hair Falls Out, Keep Dancing!" You can find out more on my page -- and let me know if there's anything else I can do!
