- I was diagnosed with lichen planopilaris..but I have the variant Frontal Fibrosing alopecia. (about five years ago) Hair loss around the ears..and moving towards the scalp and loss of eye brows. I have been using topical steroids...had injections of cortisone and tried Hydroxychlorioquine/Plaquenil (which I had a reaction to after a few months)..I more or less have been given up on. I have one more try with an appt. at boston medical in the Fall.
