- I'm 48 and I have had alopecia since 1990 when i was 26 years old. It was so hard on me that all I wanted to do was sleep and sleep. One day i just could deal with it any more, I took more then what i needed of sleeping pills. But my husband go home just in time to help me out. I had my husband cover with foil paper all my windows and I would only go out at night to take out my trash. for school I would drop off my kids about 1/2 block away form school. My husband and my kids would do the grocery shopping. I was so hard not only on me but also for my kids and husband! It was a nightmare I didn't want to see my family nor my friends so I told my husband I need to move out of town where people didn't know me. that would be the only way I could more less handle my problem. After more than 10 years living out of town I was ready to move back to my home town but It wasn't easy. I still didn't want my friends to know I had this problem since back then it was not very common. But finally 4 years ago with the help of our great Lord, I was able to talk and let my family, friend and people to know about my disease. Know I want to help other woman that have this problem specially here in Laredo, Texas since I don't really think we have something like what you have.I have since other woman acting like I was at first, it so sad we don't want people to know what we have and yet we make it so obvious, by acting kind of wired. I sure want to start something here but it needs to be in Spanish since most of us are Spanish speaking. well this is me....
