I've had alopecia areata since age 7. It has come and gone over the years, getting progressively worse. I would say that I now, at age 40, have alopcia totalis, but it has not been formally diagnosed. The decision to get a wig was paramount to my confidence. I just realized I have been warning one for 18 years! Crazy how time flies. I'm happy and healthy and glad to find a community of people to have this in common. I'm also happy to share my struggles and arrival at peace with this disease if you want to talk. We are stronger united!
